Curious if any of you were involved in that horrific traffic jam the other day. Reports are people were actually stuck on the 50 mile stretch of road for almost 24 hours. Does anyone have anything to add on this.

If it were me I would have taken 222 South to the pike or 283 and then went West. Two trucks jack knifed on the hill and the salt shakers couldn't get thru..Why they didn't come down the wrong way and then turn around and then sand is beyond me. National Guard units from Indian town gap were sent out with fuel and food and water and blankets for those stranded. They just announced on the noon time news that I-80 and I-81 and I-78 were being closed so they could be cleaned off.

Saw on the local news this morning that the traffic jam was 50 miles long and that the State Troopers didn't close it down until it was too late (24 hrs. later). Ice on the road was 4-6 inches in some places. Luckily no one was seriously hurt, but they may have some lawsuits coming anyway. Some people out there had medical conditions that needed some attention.
