Unhappy Misdemeanor Conviction

Im 21 and just recently graduated from an accredited 8 week truck driving school. I have a misdemeanor conviction back in 2004 for simple possession of marijuana. I'm having trouble finding a job because most require misdemeanors to be 5 years old. My driving record is good and that is the only thing on my record. If you know of any companies that would possible hire me please reply and let me know. All answers are appreciated

When i got my cdl in 2003 i had 3 misdemeanors that where 4 years old. One being an assualt. Being drug related is whats probally killing you. Try P.A.M Transport. I worked for P.A.M Dedicated but they dont have anything in Georgia. Pam also owns A.F. Services out of Jacksonville, florida. They hire alot of graduates. Pay isnt that great but you"ll get your experience.

Go to our Sister site ( Over The Road Truck Driver Forums - Powered by vBulletin)and check out the over the road jobs there. put on line applications in with everyone and see what happens..More than likely you will have to go with a TL ccompany in order to get the required experience and the time you need to clear your record. Also go to the companys on this site and also fill out on line applications and see what happens. Good Luck

Another reason why marijuana prohibition should be regulated & taxed again, like it was before the 1930's. You can be hung over from alcohol in 10 times worse shape than if you smoked a joint the night before. It's side effects are minimal compared with the medicinal purposesl. Sometime in the near future, the marijuana prohibition will end.

LEGALIZE IT!!!!I say that because, although I don't smoke it,you can tax it if it is legal and make tons of dough because everybody and his brother does it.But I would still have it illegal to drive under its influence.:)

Then what? Should we legalize cocaine, PCP, crystal meth, LSD, extasy, and crack too? Imagine your kids coming home wanting to try some legal drugs and even though you don't do it, everybody and his brother does it anyway. We already have a healthcare crisis going on here, so let's just flood all the rehabs. Better yet, let's influence Hollywood to do more movies about drugs, and have Paris Hilton as a spokesmodel for the newly legalized drug of choice plastered all over TV! How about a campaign saying "Don't Do It Until You Get Home" or "Don't Drive Around If Your On a Cloud"? While we're at it, let's boost the economies of all the South American drug producing countries, increase the opium production in Afghanistan, and put the DEA agents out of work. Here's a really good one. Think of all the great customer service you'll get at McDonald's, BK, Home Depot, etc. when the kid who's helping you just took a weed break. How about getting a Big Mac with a bite taken out of it already, because now they have the munchies?

Yeah, it seems like I'm blowing it way out of proportion, but its just weed right? Think of the domino effect when you make statements like that. This country has a hard enough time dealing with people who smoke and drink.
