Question I Need A Little Advise - PLEASE

I have 20+ years in the transportation industry. I live in K-Town and for the last 11 years I have driven an entertainer coach for a living. Now in that time I have averaged over 85,000 miles in every weather condition and even drove a few of our trucks that were on tour with us. Now with that said what company out there that is WORTH their weight in salt will give me a chance to be at home more with my family so that I may strengthen my spiritual life as well as see them more then 28 days in a years time? Seriously - last year 3/21/06 I married. The next AM I left out on tour with Aerosmith. I did not see my wife again til the 14th of Feb this year. Now then, with that said I am not interested in strict OTR. But if I have to do that I will but with over 1 million miles under my belt and never an accident or infraction why do these companies turn people away because the experience is not in a TT & in the last 18-36 months. I drove company truck from 1986 -1991 and then bought 2 trucks and sold them when paid off and now I haul cargo more valuable then anyone else - 12 LIVES of Entertainers. Everywhere I have turned for a good company they have said if not in the last 18 months sorry!! I can remember trucks sitting on the interstate waiting out a blizzardous storm while the buses & trucks from the tour forged ahead AND made the next show. No ICE, No SNOW is ever gonna hold up the show, unless the FEDS shut it down, not the STATE!! Peace & Blessings

Local highway departments, have drivers working days.
Unless they are up north than they plow streets in shifts.
You could hire on with a trash hauler doing roll offs.

Also dump trucks hauling sand, and gravel.
Some only work seasonal in the north again, then they sit out the winter on unemployement benefits.

All of these jobs are on a lower pay scale but they are no touch day time driving jobs.

If you go to any LTL trucking company for a day job you will have to do almost everything to get something like a route to deliver, when you have enough senority to bid for it.
But you have to load, and unload the freight.
Not all of it is hands on,but some is.

Then theres always school bus driving, all days.
Off time when the kids are on vacation.
The school districs have benefits, but the private companies don't usually.

My wife has been a school bus driver going on 24 years she loves it.
She makes almost $19.00 per hour, and gets a bounce on her hire date every year.

Other than theses offerings I can't help you.

The bottom line for you is how many hours you want to work per day,how much money do you have to make, and do you want to just drive,or are you willing to handle freight as well?

Have absolutely no problem w/ handling the frieght. Would like to get on with LTL like UPS, FEDx, etc. But I have never driven a set of pups. And truly don't care too. But Being home every other night or so would be fine but would really like every night or at the VERY least Sundays for church!!

If you want to do freight you'd have an easier time getting something fultime in a shorter time frame by trying the non-union LTL's first.
UPS Freight,Fedex Freight,Wards,R&L,or Conway to name a few.
If you want anything fultime at the pracel companies such as union UPS,or non-union Fedex,or DHL you may take a long time working part time, untill you rise to the top of their seniorty list when something fultime is avaluable.

You can also try the union LTL companies such as Yellow,Holland,New Penn,Roadway,or ABF.
If they don't have to many casuals, and some of their workers are retiring you may get something fultime right away.

But if you just join the bottom of the senority list, and no-one is close to retiring you may have a long wait?

Day time city jobs are very hard to come by for the most part you have to be in the right place at the right time.

I see Jesus under your handle.
Heres a good verse for you to look up,and follow.
Pslams 118:8,becides this verse being the center verse of the (KJV) Bible its very good advice.

Have someone agree in prayer with you about your sistuation,by faith in Jesus name, and according to the word of God all of your needs will be met.

Heres my prayer to you.
"Have fun,be safe, and may the Lord direct your path, it works for me,Apostolic"
