SWIFT would be a good start for you to get a break..Not a great company ( just from what I heard )
but they should be the ones to give ya your break.

Any truck load carrier will be great until you get youre experience then move on to the LTL carriers for the money.

LtL means less than truck load.refers to companys like Fed-X,Yellow,Con-Way,ABF..Some good some bad but they all pretty much pay the same.benefit packages change mostly from company to company so choose well...Most non-Union companys offer 401 K and such where as most teamster jobs offer 401 and company paid pensions controled by the unions..Med insurances vary from company to company as well.Good LuckGet your experience with over the road and then move on.You might get lucky and get on with a Local freight company so check them out all ya got to lose is a little time.A lot of companys take applications on line so you might want to go that route as well.
