Default Noob post (help me out, please)

I don't know if this is very relevant to this forum but I really have no idea where else I can find information on this. I do think that people here might have an answer, though.

I am currently about to get my class G1 (regular CAR driving) license (I am canadian). In a year, I will be able to have a G2 license, which will allow me to drive alone and on highways.

At that point, i have planned to go on a road trip in america. Alone. I would have a year off after highschool and it would be a great time to do this.

I just want to know:

What issues might i have at the border?

And what response would i get if i were stopped in america, and had a Canadian license?

Thanks in advance, and sorry if this doesn't belong here.

OK, point taken. :P

The thing I'm worried about is that the U.S. customs people have a reputation for being kind of harsh.

Recently there was this guy in the news that was trying to cross the border. For some reason, he was detained, and his name was googled by the workers there. They found an article he'd written about his LSD use in the 60s, and because of this, he is now banned from entering the States.

...

I don't have a history of LSD use, and I doubt this sort of thing happens to many people, but can you see how I'd be just a bit worried?

I have seen cars with Canadian plates all over, just study up on American driving laws and it will be a peice of cake, as far as the border, like Big Robbowski said, get a passport, go to the truck stop in your area and ask the drivers, Canadian trucks enter the US all the time, the drivers that do it all the time can give you some good info on what to expect. Hope this helps.
