Default Husband and Wife Teams?

Anyone run Husband and Wife team? Any other teams out there. How hard do you run? If you are running almost 24/7, when do you get a chance to do laundry and take a shower? Do you have to run that hard or is your running time flexable? How's the pay? My wife and I are talking about team driving but, we don't want to run 24/7. Is that possible? Have a great day.

I ran team for a year and a half. It was for P.A.M Dedicated. They had a few husband and wife teams there who liked it. I ran pretty hard at P.A.M, sometimes not stopping except to fuel or use the restroom. It all depends on the company and how hard they are able to run you. I primarily went from Warren, Ohio down to Laredo, Texas and back twice and i was done for 48 hrs. So I knew to hurry up get to Texas, drop my trailer and i usually had a few hrs before my next load was ready. Thats when i showered and ate. You can always make time to do the things you need. I was just out to make money and get back home to my family. Good luck with your choices. Choose wisely!

My wife and I run about 44,000 miles a month. We have been here for 8 months and we have been to a customer dock at both ends of the run 3 times. We drop and hook on one end or the other id say we average 95% drp/hk. We were very picky because respect was important to me. we make 43 cents per mile and split the pay. Our company does have what they call super solo i dont know how they have but they are a team that runs 14 hrs a day and sleep together 10 hrs you wont get as many miles of course. We shower at least everyother day occasionly we go 2 days without. Laundry gets done on average every week or week and a half. We run about 21 hrs a day plus fueling etc. Send me a pm if you ill answer any questions you have. We are thinking about going to a ltl company because we are going to drive team a few years then go home and have kids b4 then id i wanna switch to solo p&d for a local ltl.

Default 44,000 per month??

Hi crb; Boy when I broke that figure down it equals about 727 miles per day with 4 days off per month. It also tells me at .43cpm that you guys make almost $19,000.00 per month. That's over $220,000.00 per year. Is that right?? According to what I have read 4,000 to 6,000 miles per week is average. That's about 16,000 to 24,000 per month. Maybe there is one too many zeros in your number? Is it supposed to be 4,400 per week?? That would equal about $90,000 per year.

You and your wife should be able to make $6500.00 gross monthly between both of you with the wright company. Being home about 4 days aweek sounds about wright, too. Atleast that was my experience when i ran team. If you do some searching you might be able to find a dedicated account so you can be home on the weekends. Well good luck to both of you.
