Default Anyone work 4 Heartland?

Well ive had no luck finding a local job that pays what i need to make or is hiring drivers right now. Im hoping to be hired at Heartland since O.T.R is my only hope at this point. Has anyone worked for them in here and have any experiences they can pass on? Pay seams to be pretty good. I'll make .47 cents amile to start. Im hoping to run 3000 miles a week but they can only promise about 2500. If they dont hire me im already pre-hired at Western Express but the pay is only .31 amile! Id rather make .47 obviously.

I hate that you have to go over the road knowing you don't want to, its hard moving to a new town, you don't know anyone or anything about it, I don't know how much money you have to make but look into a foodservice co. if you don't mind the work, some of them even pay better than LTL. There has got to be something other than OTR, go to google and type US Foodservice go to employment and you can see what they offer in FL or go to the warehouse, if your interested, just trying to help. p.s. just because no job is posted doesn't mean they are not hiring.

I'll try anything right now not to go over-the-road. I have to make atleast 750 a week min. Thats even stretching it thin. I like seeing the country side driving otr but i hate being gone all the time. I need to get my foot in the door doing LTL but i dont know how to accomplish that. This is my last week to search around because ive been off for a month now. Thanks for the advice.

The biggest draw back with these truckload over the road types of operations,is they know how to get you going.
They just seem like they have a really hard time helping you to find your way back home?
But you could always hire on with one of those outfits untill you see something in LTL open up,then put in your 2 hour notice, and go to something you'll like much better.

You know reading the posts of the layed off workers just on these truckingboard forums.
We all that are blessed to be working for any LTL's now, should thank God for what we have every day.

I worked for them for a few weeks, they seemed ok, lots of dropped trailers so you can keep moving if you have hours and want another load.

Be weary of the cpm claim, usually that is with meeting all targets or goals, safety, fuel etc.

They do have regional offerings which will keep you closer to home.
