Default Central Transport

I was wondering if anyone knew anything about this company. What kind of reputation do they have and if anyone has ever worked for them. They are hiring in my area and I haven't had any luck with any of the other ltl companies yet. thanks

is this the same Central Transport that had the yellow trailers and tractors..??

if it is, be prepared to work, the docks as well as at the customers. i also do know that the dock workers are "contractors", and they get paid by how much weight they load onto the trailers. drivers too, i believe are "contractors" as well, meaning you get paid on a 1099 tax form, making you responsible for your own taxes. i woorked (well not really) one road trip for an owner-operator. i got all this info from him. the drivers too by the way, get more promises than a man on death-row.....

I worked for them for a couple of months last year. While they used to have a lot of "contractors" they are going to all company trucks (or that is the story I got). I worked out of the Jacksonville Fl terminal. If I did not live 75 miles away, I would still be there. You start at .36 cpm and it takes 3 weeks to get your first check. The truck I drove was new and except for the swing doors on the trailers (kind of dumb for an LTL carrier) everything else was ok. I do not know about the linehaul/dock worker thing, the Jax to Atl turn did not leave enough time for me to work the dock. I think it could be a good start to get some experience or maybe even turn into a good job once you get to top pay
