Default mpg on trucks

A really good truck will get 7mpg. I think I heard Kevin Rutherford say that 1mpg will cost you $20000 in a year. It would be really wise to buy a XM radio and listen to his programs on Saturday and Sunday afternoon. He gives a lot of tips on how to run a one truck trucking business. If you are really into it you can take his class to be a CMC-Certified Master Contractor. The information in his classes would be a waste for someone like me because I pretty much know how a trucking business works for years of trucking. Talking to people and checking out different deals. It would be a great investment for a complete newbie to spend the $500 or whatever the class is because you will lose way more than that if u get in a bad situation because of your lack of knowledge. After that I would recommend Anderson Trucking. They have a 1 year lease program where you can jump out at any time. Its sorta like owning your own truck, but they hold your hand a bit. The experience you would gain in 1 year at Anderson as a lease operator would allow you to find the best deal for you or maybe you would buy a truck from them and continue to work for them? They sell you a truck at their cost, but of course they make money on the interest of the loan and you working for them.

Thanks truckinusa. I'll take a look at what Anderson has to offer. What channel does Kevin Rutherford's show come on? My Direct TV has XM channels.

Default kevin

Kevin's show comes on XM 171. The only reason I suggest Anderson is because they aren't scammers like some of these companies out here. You lease a truck from them and they will let you quit the lease at any time. Of course they want you to complete the 1 year lease and they pay you a lease completion bonus of around $3000. You can take the $3000 and use it to buy a brand new truck from their Freightliner Dealer. Its definitely not the best deal out there, but its pretty straightforward and you should make money unlike some other lease deals.
