Your company sponsers their drivers that want to sign up.
The rodeos on a State level are two days, usually Friday & Saturday.
You have to submit an enterance form, along with a fee which your company will pay.
You will receive a small book on safety,DOT regulations, and other important trucking information, about two,or three months before the rodeo.
Theres a test on that book the first day, also that day theres a pre-trip inspection test.
Your company will also pay milage, and a full days pay for Friday,as well as any hotel rooms, for you, your spouse, and anyother family members.
For the pre-trip the officials do about 10 things to the rig you'll be driving, and you will get points for finding each item, theres also a time limit.
You have to pick out a truck,or tractor your not used to driving, from donated company equipment.
The next day theres a breakfast, thats usually paid for by your company.
Then you will receive a number for your turn, the officals will have your truck,or combination ready to go,at the starting line.
You will be timed for driving in,and around obsticals, they say this course is like your every day driving.
But no way I've been in three so far,and if you don't practise with this course before hand, you won't do very good the day of the rodeo.
You'll receive points for every thing, and you'll get a DQ if you should miss any of this courses spots.
Later in the evening theres a very good dinner, for everyone including spouses, and family members,as well as anyone of your supervisors,or TM that comes to it.
Thats when the trophies are awarded.
The first place winner gets to go to the nationals, after all of the States are done.
There are also second, and third, but of course number one is the best.
Well thats about it,I'm sure I may of left a lot out.
I'm going to New York States rodeo this weekend its in Liverpool NY just outside of Syracuse for anyone here thats interested.
