Question What Do The Various Trucking Jobs Start At $ Right Out Of School?

Hi Everybody Once Again . Another Question For You All. When And If I Graduate . What Would Be My Best Bet To Start Out Driving ? A Dump Truck . A Tracter Trailer Short Distance? What Kind Of Truck And Job Would Pay The Best To Start Out ?nothing That Would Be To Hard To Handle For A First Timer But With The Biggest Salary For The First Year ?

you're asking the impossible to answer question, regarding pay.

you will "think" you are worth a whole lotta money because you got (or will have) a CDL, when in fact, the market dictates the pay scale. if you live in an area in which $12.00 per hour is the going rate, then that's the pay, but as a "newbie", expect less than that till you "pay your dues" and "prove yourself" to your employer.

as for "the best jobs", well heck, if you get a class A CDL, that means tractor-trailer, right...?? well if it were me, then you bet your bottom dollar i'd want the job i spent all my money training for. i personally wouldn't settle for a Class B job, unless i was "retiring" and wanted to do less hours per day or something..

as far as '"hard to handle", if you can't "handle" what your given, kiss your driving career good-bye, as you've proven you're not up to the task of driving...........

you take the job, and you "handle it" like a man........

now, if you're a woman, then you take the job, and "handle it like a man would" because if you don't, you'll be the laughing stock at your terminal.......

Wait a minute there driver.Class b job is not that bad.I have a class a,but glad i took a class b driving job.Driving a class b truck dont mean that you drive less hours.I work for allied waste we drive up to 60 hours a week. The goal for me is to drive the less miles and get paid the most.We got guys that make over 70,000 and drive an average of 1000 miles per week. The pay is one the best in the trucking industry.I know you wouldnt settle for class b,but i glad i did.

Try driving Ready Mixers(Concrete Mixers), look for companies hiring in your area, go to Job Search | one search. all jobs. Indeed and check them out they have hella jobs on there. Talk to drivers in your city
