Well first welcome!!! It all depends on the company, I worked for a union shop and paid nothing. Now I work for a LTL non union and pay 23 a week. It also depends if u are married or have kids. Why is there a shortage of drivers, there are millions of us there are just more jobs opening everyday. People would probaly agree with me when I say after about a year of good driving it wouldn't be wrong to say u will be making around 50,000 to 90,000!!!! GOOD LUCK |

health benefits depend on the quality of the health care provider. it can be blue cross/blue shield, or it can be prudental, or it can be from the clearance shelf at wal-mart.............
expect at least $50.00 (for starters) for the bare minimum insurance, and don't expect to NOT HAVE TO PAY ANY OUT OF POCKET COSTS........
again, wait till you get your license, then go for the interview, then get the details from the horses mouth, not from the @ss...

i ain't seen no company driver job that pays that kind of money...........
on average, $40,000 to around $50,000 per year...........
don't ever expect huge increments in pay raises each year.....

union shops are not all what they were years ago. the unions stink, and stink big time. i worked for a union shop, all we got was senority for our vacation time, all other things were disregarded. if a company were to close its gates and go out of business, the union doesn't help you find another job, yet they make sure you pay them your monthly dues, or they kick you out.
i will stay non-union, as the pays are usually in-line with a union shop. you get no real special benefits from a union shop. the employer still controls the spending, and if the health benefits cost too much, they will switch to the "clearance shelf at wal-mart" for cheaper benefits. don't ever let a union guy make you think he has "it made" being in the union, because the reality of it is, he's worse off if he loses his job................
