The way I understand it, and I could be wrong, but, a return to duty would be after an accident, injury, a pre-employment failure? Thats not a return to duty status issue, if you failed a pre-employment drug test no big deal I would think, who could get ahold of that, unless you told them.
Mabey I am not getting the big picture here. Start from the top and mabey I or someone else could help answer the questions you have.

clayton,
please take no offence to what i am about to say. if you failed a drug test it is because you my friend was then or now taking drugs. i am new to this feild as in i to this date still have not looked thought the windsheild of a truck, but i am 34 years old and i have never ever taken drugs, ever. but you are applying to companys and testing positve. i hope for your sake that no one will hire you untill you can prove that you completed a 90day(min) drug course. not because i want you to suffer be for your safety and the safety of those that share the road with you. i mean you would only be driving 40 tons down the road, it would be nice to know that the person driving it is at the very least sobber.

remember this before you reply because you may not like what i have just said.

Smile Honesty is the best policy.

So you got popped on a piss test. Big deal.

Next job you apply for be up front and honest about it.

Schneider National, Crete Carriers, TMC, any one of those TL carriers would take you. You said you have a year and a half experience, so you wouldn't need to get a cdl again. So no big deal. You just have to be up front and honest.

Good luck.
