Kudos to the women who can do it and do it well! On a side note: I've noticed some pretty hot looking FedEx Freight women drivers. |
not neccessarily in my current situation. i think i have said before, but if not, i will say it again. i work as a supervisor, shuttle driver, yardman, and dispatcher. yeah, too many job titles for one stinkin' weakly (and i do mean WEAKLY) paycheck. whom i work for is no consequence for what i am about to relate.
i have 1 female driver. she is good, a bit slow at times, but she gets the job done, but she's nearly always late. however, she seems to think her day is done, when SHE IS DONE, and i got loads to dispatch. you see, she thinks that driving is an 8 hour day job, and no more.... i can't tell you enough how many times she tells me she's "tired" or "has to meet someone", or whatever else she decides to say. i tell her, "i've been driving for 20 years, and i've heard all the excuses there are".............she's still basically a "rookie" driver.........
driving is indeed a tough job, but i do believe that if you can't handle it, GET OUT. you simply cannot serve the customer with a driver that's constantly got an excuse to go home early.
i work for a logistics company, and we have a dedicated account. all my drivers pull their weight. but this 1 female driver i have, well let's just say, if she were to leave, she'd be replaced JACK FLASH quick, and i wouldn't miss her.
a female driver can look "hot" but she had better be able to do the job, otherwise, do not ask for pay raises, or extra miles, or complain about how much LESS she makes compared to a male driver for the same company, if they cannot do the job.
