Default Air Products/Tankers

Anyone know anything about how things are with being a tanker driver for Air Products? I went to their website and it says pay is $65-75 1st year. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge about working there? I wondered how the working conditions are? Are they home daily?

Here is what I know, I worked with a guy whose friend drove for them out of Pryor OK, he had been there 12 years and still could not get off weekends, that should tell you no one quits, they do pay fantastic, it can be hard to get on with them from what I am told, thet have day cabs and sleeper teams, my co-worker told me that alot of the senior guys went with the sleeper why I do not remember, I have heard that it is a very good job. Hope this helps a little, its tankers so its easy, probably clean, and I'm sure when you get to where you have to unload they are glad to see you.

Oh, I forgot, as for the home daily or not, I would think the sleepers are not but I have also seen day cabs parked at motels, I have also seen the day cabs comming out of locations that are more than a day away, I do know that you don't spend weeks on the road mabey a few days.

Thanks for the info grocery thrower! Actually, I am really going to try and work on the tanker side of driving. Like you said, it's clean, not lifting (I'll feel better when I am older) and pay's well.

I hope someone from A/P comes on these forums, I would love to hear what the lowdown on this job is, I don't mind weekends so that's fine with me.
