Did the companies forget N.Trukers Apperciation?

I haven't heard a word about National Trucker Driver Apprieciation Week.

I think this idea of honoring us truckers started in 2004?

So after only three years all the LTL trucking compamies have thrown this idea out the window?

I know we get a pay check for what we are doing,and the companies don't have to reconize us in any other way.

Seeing I was able to find this website,there must be still trucking companies somewhere in this country thats giving their employees a pat on the back for the hard work,and dedcation they are giving them.

UPS Driver Appreciation Week starts August 27, 2007. (Also marking their 100th year in existence)
I'm sure other trucking companies will honor their drivers.

I just thought it was kind of odd we are so close to this national pat your big riggers on the back week,and we haven't heard anything about it?

I have a friend who works for a small company (about 60 trucks)(TL Carrier) in central Pa. He runs coast to coast (all over the USA) and they told him that they are having driver appreciation week all next week ( Aug 26th thru Sep 1st) and he mentioned my name and a couple of our other friends who are all retired truckers and his company called us and invited us to come share the food and partake in the events the company is bestowing upon its people..They even told me to bring up my camper and set it up in their lot.

Do you guys hold weekly driver safety meetings?
