Is this the silver lining that helps keep our roads safe? It seems the Gov't will be enforcing the rules that say drivers on American roads MUST BE ABLE TO SPEAK ENGLISH! This rule has always ben on the books but rarely enforced. Check out the link under the preview of the article.

HARLINGEN, Texas (AP) - Interstate truckers and bus drivers may find themselves pulled off the highway if troopers or vehicle inspectors find they can't speak English.

The requirement has been on the books for decades, but enforcement has begun before Mexican trucks are allowed in the U.S. interior as of September 6th.

Look at the highway bill that was passed 2 years ago for BILLIONS of dollars and the most ever in our history too. The bill is passed every 12 years and is to keep our roads well maintained. Why do the Mexicans get a free pass in paying for that fee. Also, why do American companies have to operate at a HIGHER STANDARD from the DOT and so on...? At least level the playing field for our companies trying to operate in OUR OWN NATION!!! This is too funny.......

They should enforce that law.I was in Williamsville Illinois a few years ago and the officer in charge was telling me he got alot of that " no speak english crap" .I explained to him how the little green book states you don't have to be able to read it but you better be able to speak it.. He started grinning after he realized I was right...
I hope they do enforce this rule.If it were me and I was an officer of the law as soon as I heard "no speak english".I'd cuff'em and call INS and have thier butt sent back VIA grey-dog.. And if they started speaking english I'd write them up for obstruction of justice and make them pay all fines before being released.But in this country it won't take long for some lawyer to take it to court and claim "racial profiling" and some Mexican will hit the lotto so-to-speak
