Never, I did come close in Muskogee, when I went from the road back to the city, I came very close, sometimes I am ashamed of myself for taking that abuse, I had a family to feed though, and they come first!

Default I did!! Just last week!!

I walked off of my job last week after a heated confrontation with my dispatcher. I was driving a little local gig here in Houston at the time. so, I went home, called the owner of the company, explained to him the situation and ultimately my 10 year veteran dispatcher was forced to resign!!! I Won this one!!!
I do not reccomend arguing with a dispatcher or you can lose good runs....but as a man, I expect to be talked to and treated like a man!! Dont take no BS off anyone....Stand up for what is right....!!!!

I haven't done it as of yet. I'm very tempted to do it though. The company that I work for pretty much runs us into the ground. I work for a private company delivering our own goods to the stores. It's bad when we get to the store to deliver and nobody will help get the truck unloaded. When I first hired on with the company 10 yrs ago people that worked at the store would usually be outside on the forklift before you'd set the brakes. Not anymore!!! I've been told by numerous store people "that's not my job". I don't mind doing physical labor but when you have 10 -14 stops and only 14 hours to do it in it sure does make it a lot easier when you have help. I'm just tired of how lazy people are these day's.
I've been checking into other companies but none of them can even come close to matching my pay now. I understand that I would have to take a pay cut starting out. But, with the economy the way it is, if I were to go somewhere else and that company decided to make job cuts I'd be the first to go since I'd be the low man on the pole. Several people have told me I'd be better off just staying where I am and put up with all the crap. You know, I think they're right.

The last time I did that was in 1972. I was working minimum wage and there was no one who depended on me coming home with a paycheck. I cannot imagine any circumstances which would get me to do that today. It's not a good idea to abandon ship unless you have a decent lifeboat to climb into.
