Post Investing in a carrier

Are there any companies that would allow me to put my truck into their service, ie i dont drive the truck - the company hires and pays the driver, maintains the truck and keeps it licesed. i would just make the payments on it as the owner and cover any other expenses not already done by the truck company
(pls list these expenses if you know them)
This would be like am an inverstor investing in the company.
Any companys that do this?

Go to liveloads.com. A lot of companies hire small fleet owner operations but you really need to know a lot more about the cost of truck operations. The cost of an 2006 tractor plus all the other expenses that go with it will be around $1200.00 a week plus the cost of fuel and the cost to pay your driver. The tractor will have to do about 2500 miles per week to break even. If your tractor has a breakdown you loose money every day that it does not move. Also, if you have an accident the deductibles are high. Counting the tractor, trailer and cargo the deductible could be $4000.00 to $5000.00 out of your pocket. Then there are lots of other problems that you can not imagine. You really need to have deep pockets if you get into this business. A lot of people think that luck will see them through only to go broke. If you are serious about this and want more information send me an e-mail at highwayhaunt@truckdrivermail.com.

What you are talking about is a "wet" lease.

Call around in your area to see what companies are taking this type of lease, and determine their specs.

You will have to spec the truck or trucks as they want.

But don't expect to make a fortune at it. You may get 18 to 25 cents a mile.

i am just looking to make payments on the truck while keeping it in good running order as i dont want to quit my current job (the benefits are good ) and i have no experience being an owner operator. Maybe later when i get more experience in this industry i could switch to O/O myself.
Thanks for the direction
