(snipped)
...75-23 vote to bar the Department of Transportation from spending tax dollars on the project increases the chances – but does not guarantee – that Congress will shut down the initiative.
The proposal is part of a $106 billion transportation and housing spending bill that the Senate hopes to vote on this week. The House approved a similar provision in July as part of its version of the transportation spending bill.

While it appears likely the prohibition will survive in the final spending bill sent to President Bush, he has said he will veto it

So.... we haven't won yet....

Let's face it, President Bush is not looking out for the American People, including Truckers.

I thought he was suppose to be a President and not a Dictactor. Isn't he suppose to take into consideration, what other's are saying? The American People have said they don't want the Mexico Truckers in our country, guess that doesn't matter to him. Congress and others have given the President advice against it, yet the President keeps bushing the issue to get His way. Would someone Please explain to me, how the Mexico Truckers will benifit our country as a whole! Sure Big Business will Profit, but the average American will not.
