Im finding it very difficult to find a better job. I have the ability to apply online but finding it hard to get to the interview while driving otr. Im dont want to quit my JOB but may not have a choice. Ive been driving 1 1/2 yrs and with the same company and its time to move on. I need some helpful trucker advice!

yes, applying on line is easy indeed. but for the interview, application updates (beyond what they ask for online), and such, you may just have to take some time off. maybe a week at least. i know its tough, but this is what you'll need to do. i was once told, it may be better to get fired, at least this way, you got a WHOLE LOTTA TIME for job searching. don't quit your job however, believe it or not, that actually makes it TOUGHER to find work.

Default new job

well i been driving 1 year for baylor trucking out of milan indiana and i have wanted to get away from them for the last 6 months..but they dont want a driver home through the week..so what can ya do...i had to quit yesterday after saving some money up...so im sitting at home with no job...been calling around and been online looking..seems like all these companys want a driver to be gone all the time..and it m,ay be because of that very reason..they are afraid you will find another job...wich is part of the reason the turnover rate in the trucking industry is so high

Well to be perfectly honest that is what OTR is.Away from home all the time.Get yourself hooked up with a Union carrier or a non-Union carrier if ya want home time ...
ABF,Roadway,Yellow,New Penn,Holland,Con-way Fed X, R&L,just to name a few. Plus you will make more money..
