You can purchase a scale model replica of an 18 wheeler complete with the trailer at some truck stops for about $20.00.
The real ones cost about $100,000.00 for a basic tractor and about $130,000.00 for an owner op specced truck with all the bells and whistles.
Not sure about the cost of a new 53' dryvan but would guess about 25 grand.
As for the beds they run the gamut from a foam pad to a top quality inner spring mattress with comfort padded top. I sleep just fine in my truck better than any hotel bed I ever slept in and more peaceful than the 1 at home (wife sleeps with 4 dachsunds in our kingsize bed and are always crowding me lol).

Our best aerodynamic trucks claim close to 8 miles per gallon. I have only been able to get about 7.5 mpg with a light load on flat ground. Driving in mountains it drops to around 6 on average.
As for actual cost of a "new" trailer I have never bought 1 and was speculating based upon the fact you can buy a used 1 for around 10 grand or less depending upon the age and condition.
