Default Pre-Trip Inspection???

Hello.. New trucker here, and new to the forums. My company has paid for me to get my class A CDL, and I will be hauling a Vermeer 24/40 HDD Drill (locally). I have passed the written exams with ease, now looking forward to passing the pre-trip and skills tests.
How is the Pre trip conducted? will the instructer "tell me what he wants pointed out and inspected"? Or will he just say "Go" and I will have to preform a rundown on what I am to inspect? The pre trip is the only thing that has me worried due to me not being much of a mechanic. Any help would be apprecaited.
Thanx in advance.

Do yourself a favor and study the procedure for pre trip inspections in your CDL booklet from your state.. Here in Pa when you do the pre trip inspection you must take the keys out of the ignition and put them in your pocket when you get out of your truck. Each state ( I assume ) does their testing a little different.. Make sure you actually touch the lugs with your hands and check your turn signals one at a time.I've heard some states time you and others don't so do yourself a favor again and ask drivers in your home state.

The inspector will follow you around the truck. Very simple rules to follow are SEE IT, SAY IT, TOUCH IT, SAY WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR.
This will illustrate your knowledge of the vehicle and its components.

I just posted a article about pre-inspection.

Maybe it will help a bit.

Default pre trip

Ohio has a 30 minute time limit for pre trip and you must touch almost everything or atleast let them no what you are pointing to.
Tell them that you are checking everything to make sure it's not bent, cracked, frayed, or broken.
