Question Roehl Driver Dress Code, hair, and beard policy?

I've gotten a pre-hire letter from Roehl, and am hopeful that all goes well.

Some companies require short hair on men. Some don't allow beards. Some require drivers to wear uniforms.

I haven't found what the policies are for Roehl. Do any of you know what it is?

Thanks.
All the best to you.

I always thought about them but never made the move.I am now retired from a Teamster freight compnay..They have decent looking equipment and I never heard one of them drivers complain about anything.Must be a good company but I went thru their web site and didn't see anything about personal apperance. But most companys have some sort of standard they want you to live by.

Good luck,Hope it works out for you. Please keep us informed.

i haven't heard anything about any "dress code" either, but let's face it, it's all common sense to begin with.

if i were hiring driver's and someone came in with floor lenght hair and a scraggly beard..... what chance would he (or she) have in getting hired by me...??

there is an "unknown" decorum in applying for a job. look neat and clean, and even smell nice by using some after shave lotion, not those christmas tree air-fresheners, and have good smelling breath.

the customers you will see, are the ones that you need to give that first good impression of you and your company.

you never get a second chance at first impressions.

if a person has long hair, then cut it shorter, or at least get it styled. as for beards, keep it well trimmed.

wear clean clothing, whether it be blue jeans or work pants/shirts with NO rips or obscene words/phrases, etc.

pro1driver has pretty much said what needs be about any one and their personal appearance and work enviroment.

Keep it clean, keep it neat and have respect for yourself. Most OTR companies aren't strict on attire, I think some companies might require you wear company shirts....mostly T-shirts or golf shirts with the company logo on them.
Most times they will provide you the the clothing.

A friend of mine worked for a company that moved cars and they furnished him his shirts, coats, caps and gave him a voucher for the type of jeans/pants to wear.......in this case the color was black.

I strongly suggest asking about whats required of you on attire and appearance while "on the job" when you interview.

Call your Roehl recruiter and ask. I started driving tractor trailer 15 years ago for Millis Transfer after an 18 year computer operator/programmer career and I always had long hair. I discussed it with the recruiter before I accepted the spot and he actually gave me a trainer with longer hair than mine! The best way is to ask so there are no surprises when you get there. Oh and by the way 15 years later and my hair has not been cut once, so I guess I couldn't work for PRO1Driver, but fortunately he is not doing the hiring as most companies would see my 15 years with no accident/no violation record as a plus and possibly overlook the fact that my hair is below my waist. I 've never had any problem finding employment anyway and I worked in the office for one of the largest banks in the Northeast at one time. You should never judge a book by it's cover.

We share a yard here in Wisconsin with Roehl and I haven't seen any sign of a dress code. I worked for them from 90 to 94 and I did good with them. They had there quirks and problems but nothing any different than any other outfit. Time came to come off the road and be home more often, otherwise I would probably still be with them.
