Lightbulb My knees hurt!

I have been driving for about a month and my knees are killing me!
I drive a bulk hauler that is either MT or 105K, after driving over the mountains of the Northwest for a week I can barely walk.
Is there something I can do?

Welcome to trucking boards nogovgary. Good to have you with us.

I would suggest stopping every few hours and walking around your rig a couple of times to get the blood circulating in your legs. I know when mine bother me that's what I try to do and it seems to help some.

Go in a different direction...away from the mountains!......LOL

Seriously, if you are new to driving any long distance, outside of your car,it will take a while to get use to it.

It might be mostly nerves, stress of trying something new, those muscles do tense up.

Invest in some Icy-Hot or Bengay and rub some on your knees and your calf muscles when you go to sleep. It will help.

Knee wraps can help also. You can fnd them near the BenGay and IcyHot. These you can wear while driving.

I was thinking that my trucks control pedals were too high, the seat will not adjust up high enough for me!

You might be right, try adjusting it,it might take you a few times until you feel that it's right.

Adjust your air seat the proper way.
Let all the air out.
Sit straight up in seat.
Slowly add air until your feet are sitting flat on the floor.Once you have enough air in the seat and your feet are still sitting flat on the floor see if the front of the seat adjustment is up or down. This is the tricky part.If the front part is adjusted up it might be cutting off the blood supply to the back part of your legs which would make them feel sorta numb..
Too much air in the seat usually causes the numbness because your feet are off the floor and the back part of your legs are resting on the seat all the time.

After all this is done and checked properly then adjust your lumbar part of the seat so the lower part of your back is secure in the seat.

You don't wear Garters do you because they too will cause this while driving..The Mountains (pesonal opinion here) I don't believe have anything to do with your legs getting sore.
