Default Haz-mat question???

I added haz-mat to my cdl back in 2005 and I went thru the fingerprinting and background check. My cdl expires Jan. 27 2008 so my question is do I have to go thru the fingerprinting and backgroun check again or do I just simply take the test because my fingerprints have not changed, but then again I am talking about the federal gov. so why should it be that simple. By the way I live in Ohio if that makes a difference. Thanx for any and all help in this matter.

unfortuately, whenever we go for our license renewals, and get the hazmat endorsement renewed as well, we ALL need to go through the finger-printing and background checks again.........

one would think that our fingerprints are already on file, but its a way for ALL the states to get more money from us.

sadly too, if we do not renew the hazmat endorsement, many of us can be either out of a job, or re-assigned to the loading dock instead.

i too had hoped that it was a "one time deal"..............

but it's not...........

so let's all sit back, and thank a terrorist today...........they (the terrorists) need our heartfelt thanks.............

and by the way, like the other poster said, you should have had this done 1 to 3 months ago. you may not be able to get this done ASAP, which then, your employer can either sideline you, or give you other duties till you get the hazmat crap out of the way.............

again, thank your local terrorist....................

I believe if you show them your reciept from getting the fingerprints you can get an extention . If you let it lapse & you are already in the process of waiting for the results you may have to get them redone.

This has absolutely nothing to do with terrorism. It only has to do with one more way for our government to steal money from us. If the government was truly worried about terrorists they would have closed the borders long ago and hunted them down.
