Angry Montana official: PPL applied 'unethical' pressure to energy co.
Montana Public Service Commissioner Ken Toole says PPL Corp. tried to pressure another energy company into accepting its legislative agenda.Toole called it "unethical" for PPL Montana to seek such a guarantee as part of its 2006 price negotiations with NorthWestern Energy. NorthWestern buys much of its energy from Allentown, Pa.-based PPL, then markets it to consumers.
