Need Real World Answers

I hear all kinds of "we pay this" and "we pay that" using TMC and Maverick as two companies I am looking at as a "newbie" but a hard and loyal person, what can I really expect to make in my forst 6 mo. or even first year? And still be home every weekend?

Hey Jonso, If I remember right those are flatbed co's. That is where I got my start. That would be great if you could get home evey weekend but I would doubt it being new to the industry. But if you can Welcome to the boards, They are cool but addictive, use them in moderation.

they will start you off with what they say "competitive compensation", which pretty much means the going rate.........whatever THAT is these days.

as a "newbie", you "might" be able to earn at least $35,000 to $45,000 per year, BUT, this all depends on so many variables we can't touch on all of them.

like, time on the road, vacations, sick days, days sitting due to no freight, for starters. if you're a "hustler", you can earn more than the average "newbie". but DO NOT burn yourself out either. if you do, you will soon learn to hate driving.
