Default digi cams

how many drivers out here use a digi-cam to record their trip? So that if there was ever an accident there is a clear record of it?
If you had a camera that would record your entire trip from start to finish, would you like that or would you feel it might be detrimental?

I don't use one. I think it would be kinda neat to go back and watch some of the crap that goes on during your run. Like when a 12 point buck nearly becomes your new hood ornament or some idiot cuts you off to get to the ramp. I don't know if it would ever legally hold water as far as the company is concerned. If it isn't installed and maintained by them, they probably would balk if it were to be used in a court of law. Would be cool to have one for fun though.

read an article in Land Line Magazine last year where a guy used a cam on his dash. He caught on video a guy in his car slamming on his breaks purposely to try to get the driver to rear end him. After the 3rd attempt the driver had to swerve n the left lane (where trucks arent allowed) to avoid hitting him but clipped him anyways. When the police arrived at the accident the driver produced the video to prove what was going on, the police officer arrested the driver of the four wheeler BUT give a ticket to the truck driver for being in an illegal lane (left lane) because it showed him on video getting in the left lane. So i'm not sure how good cams would really be these days with how people are still out to get trucks no matter what.

right now i don't, but i think that someday i will. in fact, i do believe that here on this site, there is/was a sponsor for a digi-cam, and also, i think that it has a rather long recording time.

here is the link:

Trafficsafetycam

now, if this was not the one sponsoring this site, then sorry, i must have gotten it elsewhere's........

I got a ticket one time in new Jersey for being in the left lane for the same reason. The cop saw the whole thing which really pissed me off but when I called and talked to a lawyer he said it was much cheaper to pay the $78.00 fine than his $1000.oo fee.The cop even said as he gave me the ticket he wishes he could have gone after the car but the people of Jersey were on their hate kick about trucks back then.

Yes, this is the one I got. It records my entire trip (7 hours) and is a nice clear picture, just as the sample shows. It is not worth crap at night thought. Strictly a daylight camera. Some companies probably have some type of rule against it, but if someone was to cut you off and cause the accident I think it is a very valuable asset? I might not want the safety man at my company to be able to see my driving for the entire trip though?
