Default companies hiring foreign workers

Can anyone give me some info on companies hiring foreign workers?????.
I have my AZ and experience of driving here in Canada and the US.
I'm British and have 18 years driving experience from England and Europe and I'm currently working for Challenger out of Cambridge.
If I have to ill relocate anywhere.

Default foreign workers

I'm already in Canada, Have been since Dec 2006.
But if I get a job offer here or the US then Ill consider anything there is on offer.
I can legally cross the US Canadian border.
The only thing stopping me from getting "normal" work in the "normal " way is I'm here only on my passport and don't have my landed status papers yet. I have a valid work permit for Challenger Motor Freight Inc Cambridge Ontario.

You will need to talk to the U.S. Dept of Imigration, to get a temp work visa. Your company has terminals here in the U.S. They should be able to help you. You need a WORK VISA.

The work permit world is so complicated,
Does my British passport allow me to enter the United States the way it does here in Canada...for 6 months acting as a travel visa.
Then the work permit then doubles as both and is a length from 6 months to a year depending on the contract length
And do I have to have a letter of introduction or firm job offer from a company within the US with dates of job commencement and end to get the work visa?
I'm not necessarily going to stay with Challenger.
