Default What is your cost per mile

what does it cost to run your truck per mile.

I am talking about diesel at $4.00/gal, tires, parts etc.

Before you any profit. At what $/mile do you break even?

If a truck gets 6 mpg and diesel is $4.20/gal that is $.70 a mile. that is crazy.

Not sure what the operating rate per mile is but I found the fastest way to become a millionaire in trucking today is to start out with two million.

Our fleet maintenance operating cost ( oil, grease , labor , tires, etc.) is .07 per mile which I think is pretty darn LOW. Now this doesn't include insurance , just strictly maintenance expense.

Truthfully,

Most carriers are probably much higher but, that is OUR maintenance cost...we work for P-nuts here....

I have been figuring the cost for our company for about 7 years now . I would think that they (the management , that is ) have NO reason to complain.....
