If you were a company driver and someone gave you a truck (a quality truck) what would you do? Would you try to become an O/O or just say no thanks. I know a lot of you will say "heck, I'll sell it". I know there is a tremendous amount of responsibilities that o/o's have but one big thing to consider is that you won't have a truck payment.
Part of me still wants to own my own truck some day but the other is thinking . I have a good friend that threw the idea at me of buying an additional truck and giving it to me so I could give it a shot. He said he would purchase it and basicaly just give it to me as a gift. From there on out I'd be responsible for everything else. There would be a lot to learn before I'd do it. I'm thinking that I'll drive other peoples equipment for now, letting them pay for everything.
if i were given a truck i would make sure it had a DOT inpsection. then i would check it out for dents, dings, scratches, and make minor repairs.....
then i'd either auction it off or find a buyer outside the states, maybe even across the "big pond" and be done with it....
best money i would have ever "earned".........
and if the person that "just gave me" the truck disapproves of my actions, that person can and never talk to me no more, it'll serve him right for giving me the truck...........
Park it in the back yard under my bedroom window. Every day/night when I woke up I would pee on it till it is rusted away.
Whoa, that would be a lot of peeing. You'd probably have to invite the neighbors over too.
I think that it would be way too much trouble plus too many haedaches trying to find someone to buy it from me. I know the industry is at the bottom of a landfill right now.
