Default Headed toward Iowa April 14-18? Please look for my son

Please look out for my son who is headed to Iowa (on foot or hitchhiking) from the Bend, OR area. He is 21 years old, 6 feet tall w/ bushy blonde hair and blue eyes, medium build roughly 190 - 200 pounds, probably wearing shorts, brown sandals, gray coat and only carrying a sleeping bag and blue tarp. No tattoos or piercings. His name is Zach. If you cross paths with him, please call us his parents or, ask him to call (Jeff or Linda) to let us know he is okay (541) 914-4012, or (541) 913-3975 or (541) 687-8836. There seems to be three routes he might take hitchhiking:
1. Assuming he chose to go Oregon 126 to begin with: go to Sisters and Redmond and then Hwy. 20 up thru John Day and on to Ontario. Then I-84 to Boise and on to Mt. Home and Twin Falls. After a little town called Heyburn you can go:
a. South on I-84 to Utah and across southern Wyoming and Southern Nebraska and across Iowa or
b. North on I-86 to Idaho Falls and North up to Butte, Mt., across Mt. and on thru Wyoming to Billings. At Billings, Mt. one could take one of two routes:
a. the I-94 northern route thru No. Dak. If he goes North he goes thru No. Dak. and on to Minneapolis, Minn., then south to LaCrosse, Wisc. and south to Dubuque, IA. or
b. the middle route thru So. Dak on I-90. If he goes thru So. Dak. he could also go all the way to LaCrosse, Wisc and then turn south to Dubuque, IA.
3. There is some possiblity he could end up going a Southern route thru Salt Lake City, I-70 Denver, Colo. I-76 and up thru No. Platte Nebraska on I-80 which can be taken all the way to Davenport, IA. Then he would have to turn north on Hwy. 61 to get to Dubuque, IA. I don't know how much help this is but the semi-good new is that there are pretty limited routes to go to Iowa. It is about 2100miles from here to there. Please help us locate our son. He is really not equipped to make this type of trip. God Bless You. Thanks!

I ran I-80 from Lincoln, NE to Kearney, NE yesterday and from Kearney, NE to Omaha today. Never saw anyone like that along the way. Sorry, and good luck. If I go back that way tomorrow I'll keep my eyes peeled.
