| | Can somebody help me...
I have this tower in my backyard, my profile pic. I bought my house from a man that worked as a truck driver so I am assuming it has somethinfg to do with that. Can somebody help me identify it and how I can remove it? Are things resellable? I am sorry to bother you all with this, but figured I would go to the experts for help. Any help is much appreciated! Thanks! Colleen

I believe it is a ham radio antenae tower. If you don't get a response here, try that forum below. I would take a few pics of it and sell it on Ebay. Make sure you specify the winning bidder must remove at their own expense and risk. If you aren't set up for Ebay, try calling a local Ebay store to run the ad for you.

Thank you so much! For your help, I thought of EBay but would have no idea what they sell for, but I guess at this point my only care is to just get it out of my yard! Thanks Again!

its either a ham radio tower/antenna, or a two way radio tower/antenna.
i supposed it could have even had a cb radio antenna up there as well.
the guy you bought the house from "could have been" an owner-operator and his home acted as the office as well.
now for removal, you can call a salvage company, see what they will charge you, but remember, they will not only charge you but probably re-sell it themselves. as for putting it on eBAy, you will need to specify the buyer comes over to remove the tower, otherwise, the cost of the tower, plus the cost of getting a contractor to come over and remove it, will be far more than anyone would be willing to pay.
remember too, that its deep into the ground, probably 3 to 5 feet, and most certainly sealed in concrete.............
i'd just call someone over, cut it up, haul it away. leave the concrete in the ground, because it'll cost you way more to remove the concrete............
too bad you didn't negociate that into the price when you bought the house.......

I have more pics of it, but don't know how to attach them for people to see. Any help in identifying the mystery tower in my backyard and how I might go about selling it would be greatly appreciated!! | save the photos in "my pictures", then go to (sorry the site is not working)
and upload the photos to there. you will then check off which photos you want uploaded, then you will copy the URL for each photo. then here on this board, you will click onto the "yellow" envelope just above the text space, paste the URL there.

on the other hand, why sell it? Look for hammers or other radio freaks in your area, see if they'd want to rent it.
The search and rescue org I used to belong to would have killed for a tower like that where we could put a repeater.
The idea here - why make money off it once, when it might be possible to get *recurring* money?
