Default Road kill

Anybody ever hit or run over a Deer or any type of animal. Talk about your last kill. In Nov I hit 2 Deer in 1 Sunday I had to call out the tow truck on the 2nd hit. Radiator when out. That wasn't fun. Left blood all over the front end.

Got a call from my L/H driver one night. Said he had a BULL run under the back trailer on his way to Dallas. Seems the bull was "in luv" and chasing a cow, didn't see the big truck until it ran over him. Poor bull. This was about 4 years ago.

Truck and trailer: 1
Bull: 0

I hit a deer one morning in a big truck. Three of them ran across a 2 lane I was rolling down. Knowing I was gonna hit at least one, I slowed as quickly and as much as I could, then lined up on the deer crossing in front of me. At the last second, I swerved in the direction the deer was running. Picked it off with a clean hit. The owner thanked me for reacting so professionaly, the only damage was to the right bumper section, which they could easily bend back. I continued on to deliver my load on time, planning to pick up the deer on my return. Wouldn't ya know someone scabbed my deer within the 2.5 hours I was gone.

The moral is by hitting in the direction the deer is running, you reduce velocity and by hooking off the corner, you drop the deer under the truck not into the hood.

You did say any animal..my friend was coming north one night on a 2 lane hwy and a drunk motorcycle rider was going south around a curve, my friend saw he was going to fast and had moved it over in the ditch by the time the rider hit him, got the side step on the tractor and lopped the guys leg off, he lived but had the nerve to try and sue the company, he didn't get very far with that one. He tore the truck up pretty bad going in the ditch. Wasn't worth tearing the truck up IMO, for a drunk.
I have had the good fortune not to ever hit a deer, only dogs and rabbits and such, never did any damage.

when i was dispatching for super transport a driver hit a deer , the safety dept questioned me about if the driver was trustworthy and if he really hit a deer. so i went out and checked the tractor out, pulled out deer hair taped it to a piece of paper and sent it in to the safety dept. 2 days later the charlotte shop called and asked if i did that lol what could i say
