Default CoPilot Truck GPS

I've been given the CoPilot Truck GPS to evaluate for our company. I'll work with it for a few weeks and then submit a report on it along with recommendations on whether we'll use it or not. I'll pass the report along on here as well.

So far, I'm not impressed. I tried it in my car today and even though I set it for a 53' trailer and truck routes, it still tried to route me down a street no wider than an alley.

I'll keep messing with it and see what happens.

I have a younger brother that is currently a driver. He bought the Co-Pilot program with the gps antennae that plugs into the usb port and loves it. He used to call me all the time for directions. Not anymore though. His Co-Pilot has really been helpful to him.

I have read up on it and I believe it is the only truck oriented gps system offering out there designed specifically for trucks.

The 300.00 price tag is too high for me right now, besides I know how to read a map already and am familiar with most of the places I go.

For new drivers it may make their jobs much easier and less stressful though.

there is another device supposidly for trucks also that is designed with truck routing in it. and it has available updates. and it is smaller and goes on the windshield. i've looked at it but haven't met anybody with it. it's teletype and can be found here....

I had some issues with it, that I didn't run into with other systems, but for the most part it worked pretty good for me.
