Default Handbook/Rules

I just started a new job. One of the things I received during this process was a company policy & rules handbook. It outlines most everything and it's the average literature. For a while I had this (miss)fortune of working for conway freight. They don't have this and I was wondering how many other companies dont have this.

ALL Companies have some type/set of Rules and Regs. Some Companies don't adhere to much of them as in:
I used to work for a Courier Service and used to quote the Company Rules (from their Handbook) to the Company "Officials" whenever they wanted me to do something that either didn't jive with their Handbook or were Unsafe.
I didn't last long there because of my continuous usage of THEIR RULES supporting my stance.

There are as well the Common Sense Rules of which aren't so Common anymore.

with all the surmountable paper work one has to sign when applying for a new job, many of us "signed" for a company rule/handbook to be "delivered" at a later time........problem is......that time seems to be never............

i once worked for a company (now defunct) that stated something like, "all drivers MUST stay in right lane at all times"......(or words to that effect)....

yeah right.........i stayed in the "right lane".........that is to say, the "right lane to me"........

Absolutamento!!
I Left the Right Lane for the Correct Lane and was First to arrive Last, where I then sat on the second floor of a vacant lot in the Sun watching it rain while eating Green Eggs and Ham and trying to memorize the Jabberwocky.
Jabberwocky
