I am not, nor will I ever have to face this problem, but I have a friend who is a driver, he took a lortab that was not his script, then he got pulled for a random. He refused to take it, knowing he would most likely test positive, he was released and by that, I mean terminated. Now my questions are, 1) Will his refusal to take the screen show up on his DAC report and, 2) Is a refusal to take one, worse, better or the same as a failure? Just would like to get some info on this.

A: Probably go on report to DAC depending on what, when, where and who.
and
B:That it is treated like a refusal to take a breath test for drunk drivers. It is assumed that refusal = positive test result by the standards in use.
Sorry to hear about your friends job loss, nevertheless. This is a bad time to lose any job in this recession.

Lortab(hydrocodone)doesn't show up in the 5 panel test. Also a refusal is the same as a failed test. Another thing, whether or not this information is sold to DAC, the FMCSA has guidelines about this. His SSN is probably marked as a refusal and will follow him where ever he goes.

When he took the pill and was asked to submit to a random, he was to unform the medical examirer that the medication is in his system and get a signed receipt to that effect. DO NOT REFUSE TO TAKE ANY TEST

DO NOT REFUSE TO TAKE ANY TEST | Depends on whether the MRO is through the testing company or not. If MRO is not affiliated w/lab, they ask/take no script info, when sample given. If you get an MRO call, you'd advise then.
