Default Off the road too long

I had an on the job injury that required surgery to correct and a long recovery. After recovery I took a job as a ranch manager and held it for 7 years. Now the job has ended and I am trying to get back on the road. No problem with the physical but no one will touch me because I have been off the road too long. Any suggestions? I am considering a refresher course but wonder if this will help.

What happened to the Ranch??
I would do ranch work (yet I no habla Espanol) since I wouldn't have the aggravations involved in driving a Truck and I wouldn't have the Lag Book to deal with.
Hard Work and getting in shape, what's wrong with this??
Driving a Truck: getting fat, lazy, complacent.

This is just MY opinion and observation.

The ranch close down. No money in horses when people are wondering where there next paycheck is coming from.
I managed to hook on pulling containers. it doesn't pay much but it gets me back in the wind and in 6 months or so a better job will be easier to get.

I got my CDL in 2000 and relocated to NE OK. No one will touch me without going through the course again.....PAM and Landstar are offering a program right now that will pay for the course but you have to do I year of service......it's a game to support the schools.

Hey now!

I'm 6'5" and back to my fighting weight of 185 lbs. That's down from 240 about 1 1/2 years ago! You CAN drive a truck and still stay in shape.
