Default ripped off by KDT Express out of MN

Hey everybody, Just wanted to let u all no about KDT Express broker. They have ripped me off for 3000.00 and shy of getting a lawyer there seems 2 be nothing else that i can do. I hauled a hay load and come to find out that hay is exempt, so i can't file against their bond. If anybody has any useful information about getting even with a broker please come back. Thanks and keep it between the whites:

You can file a compliant with the BBB. They will be able to assist you in some way.

You can also put a lien against the load of hay that you delivered. Advise the receiver that you are about to do that as you have not been paid. They may not have made payment to the shipper/broker, and will be able to with hold your trucking fees for a period of time to allow the broker to fulfil their commitment to you.

Yes in some instances. You must check out the broker before you accept the load. This is good if the factoring company hasn't gone for the weekend. This was a late friday load and everybody gone for weekend, and we took the load only to find out that KDT is a company who doesn"t pay their bills.

I could drink a lot of beer that weekend for $3000. I don't know if this is realistic, but I would factor through someone that does that non recourse deal where they pay no matter what or I would demand money up front. You just have too much risk doing work with unknowns nowdays and the fuel alone being so much of the bill. I believe you can still file against their bond if they have one. I would definitely sick a collection agent on them. You get half if they ever collect.
