Default Background check for NEW ID card for chemical plants?

Has anyone heard that you will be required to get a new background check done for the Hazmat to get some type of ID Card that you must wear when you go into chemical plants?

Oh...I also heard that this NEW ID check will cost you $130...

Wasn't that the point of getting the fingerprints and the background checks through the TSA in the first place before you could get the OKAY to get a CDL?

I'm confused.

Thanks for any info.

i never heard of this. however, if its true and not some trucker c.b. rumor you heard, then you know what, i'm tired......i'm tired of all the B.S. we have to go through for our stinkin jobs. luckily i do not go into any chemical plant. but with todays drivers already paying money for one thing or another JUST TO KEEP our licenses, i wouldn't be surprised if many drivers just get up and walk out to other jobs..........never in my life here on this earth have i witnessed so much B.S. for one particular occupation, and you know what....??

it AIN'T WORTH IT.......

this is why i will very often ask (sarcastically)

"have you hugged a terrorist today"....???

think about it......if it wasn't for the terrorists, we wouldn't have gone from the ridiculous to the sublime...........

if these (anti-terrorism) measures where enacted BEFORE 9-11, we wouldn't be in the situation we are in today.......

and it could have ALL BEEN DONE for ZERO........

no "self respecting" terrorist needs anything, NOT EVEN training in how to drive a tractor-trailer..........

they just need to steal it, and "wing it" to thier targets...........

they only need to "wreak terror and destruction"...........ANY WHERE...........not even "the target".........

i found it, what you were asking, here it is:

ain't that forever the truth........

the nonsense however of background checks for drivers will seemingly never end.....

and yet, some drivers that have poor driving records, still get jobs.....just browse through some of the accidents posted, and read some of the drivers charges or past dealings with thier licenses.......do a google search of the various news stations.....i even posted a link in the accident thread about the "Boston" wreck a few days/week ago.....that driver had 6 PAGES of driving offenses, even (i believe) 2 SUSPENSIONS...just look for any accident thread i started, you'll find it.......

yet, he still got a job driving.......

we DON'T HAVE to worry about terrorists.....

inept drivers that are being hired by fools at the trucking companies are descimating our roads daily.........yet the good drivers out of work, can't find the job they want.....

so much for public safety.........

WOW Pro you are really passionate about this. I do deliver to chemical plants and I have not heard of this yet. But I would not doubt that it is coming down the pike. Prior to being a driver I worked in EMS and yes you have to be certified in a number of different things but the state pays for a-lot of it. Also continuing education throughout the year is free. I'm going to say it one more time, if we stop reaching in our pockets and very few drivers are available to haul haz-mat, or go into chem plants then shippers and transportation companies will have to eat the cost.

the CDL was supposed to "weed out" the bad drivers......yeah, right

the finger printing/FBI background check was to make sure, WE american's are NOT a terrorist threat.....yeah, as if a self respecting terrorist is going to ask permission to up and steal a rig.

now this so-called "other" requirement....

you know, the CDL, the hazmat background check, and whatever else was supposed to make it better for us drivers, giving us MORE money to haul such things.........

yeah........where.....??? i don't see any more or different ads for drivers that have a spotless background and a great DMV record.........

all i see is ads for "drivers"........period.....same ol pay, same ol crap...........

when were we supposed to "see" the payscale jump into the stratosphere....????
