Exclamation Dumb Truck Drivers !!!

Ok, I am on this extended forced vacation, workers comp, and I was going to my physical therapy appointment. Now here in my town, some of the underpasses have the turn arounds so you don't have to wait for the light.. I looked up at the BIG YELLOW SIGN and it says 12'6". Now under that sign was a truck with the top of the trailer smashed in and crinckled like a fancy french fry. N0ow mind you, there are three signs between the entrance to the turn around and the bridge itselfe that say NO TRUCKS!!. Why are people so stupid and give sfae drivers a bad name like that?

Some drivers minds are preoccupied that clearance signs don't register until it's too late.
I know a few drivers this happened to and they are good drivers.
.......Just a bad and costly case of Brain Farting at the wrong time.

There is a bridge near my home that gets hit fairly regularly. Seems as though it was 13' 6" when the underpass was new, now that the road has been paved a few times over the years, it's about 13' 2" these days.

Apparently no one looks up anymore, just forward.
There are still Docks that do not accommodate 13'6" trailers yet there are some Drivers that for some reason(s) listen to the folks at these docks telling the drivers that "There are trucks in here all the time" except they fail to mention or know the difference between a Straight truck and a Combo.
I fell for that line maybe once or twice in the first year driving.

Get in a hurry and spend more time waiting to clear things up. Now you've all kinds of time.
