 DOT Physical Question
Well, I've been doing this job for many years now and have never run into this one. Went in to take a DOT Physical (pre-employment) and got completely disqualified because my pulse rate was 120. These physicals get me nervous anyway cause I'm always worried about my blood pressure (this time it was 134/84). After the acceptable blood pressure reading I thought I was on the downhill slide to a two year card until the Doc came in, did all his stuff, listened to my heart and then told me the only way he would give me a DOT card was if I took a EKG at my own expense. I never saw that one coming. I have never had any heart problems, some history issues with Mom and Dad but I don't smoke and I exercise fairly regular. Anybody else ever run into this and is there anything I can do? |
