 Experts detonate pipe bomb at Indiana truck stop

SPICELAND, Ind. — Explosives experts detonated what they classified as a pipe bomb found in the refueling area of the Flying J Travel Plaza at Interstate 70 and State Road 3 the afternoon of Aug. 7, according to authorities.
There were no injuries, but Sheriff George Sheridan Jr. said the situation could have been worse.
“What you are dealing with is the imagination of whoever the perpetrator is,” he said.
Sheridan said there were about 50 people inside the business, which is about 40 miles east of Indianapolis, when the suspicious device was found by a Flying J employee.
