Default back in the saddle

Well, I think I'll be heading back in a truck after taking time off for school but living in northern michigan I got limited options. What are the best otr companies out there? I'm leaning toward werner or JB.

WHY Werner or J. B. ??
There is a Company Terminal up there in North East Michigan called, I believe, Best Way(?) and I also believe their H. Q. is in Akron, OH.
They have (had?) some terminals and such in a few states.
I drove for them once in '99-'00 for about 6 months thru a Leased on O/O doing a dedicated roll.
Their Trucks were/are Blue.

I Hope You Get On Somewhere!!

I don't have a full year experience so thats a big disadvantage. Werner allows pets from my understanding but I hear they are -thee- worst company to work for next to JB hunt. Really I don't know what's in my area so any tid bits are worth it. Also thanks for refering me to best way, I went ahead and applied.

Please, Please, Please do yourdelf a favor and stay away from Werner. I have a friend that works for Gainey (GTS), he's content with them. He is making money (something you won't be at Werner). He lives up near Siginaw and gets home every 10 days.

ten days? whoa I can live with that. Werner is like 17 days out and 34 hours home. I gotta admit, werner seems worse and worse. I was talking to a werner driver the other day at the flying j's. He was out 19 days before he had to TELL them to send him home. He only was making around $400 a week after taxes too, which is complete crap, mine as well go work for McDonalds and do 70 hours a week. I'll apply at Gainey ASAP THX for the help!

I've been looking at Heartland Express. I live in MI also, you can run their regional fleet out of Columbus and be home every weekend. You could run their OTR fleet, I don't know about the home time though. Good luck.
