Default Anyone else been this lucky?

In the last 3 months I've been pulled over twice and only got a verbal warning. Is this just luck or did they really not have me locked in or whatever? I just held my licensce out the window on the last one and said i was very sorry and must not have been paying attention. It worked!

yes, yes it HAS happened to me as well, but in my 4 wheeler either going to work or going home. i got pulled over too. he had his radar gun fixed on me, and i was nabbed......by the time the cop had walked over to me, i had my license, registration, and insurance card ready.....one cop laughed and said he normally has to wait several minutes for someone to dig out everything to show him....

the other cop was speechless.....

in both cases, i said i was sorry and hadn't been paying attention and just listening to the FM radio.....each cop saw my CDL and basically stated that since i need that license for my livelyhood, i wasn't going to get a ticket, and at least i admitted i was wrong, and not argumentative.............

so, yes, for me too, at least twice i escaped the tickets i could have been given, by just being honest and admitting my fault up front.....

however, this may not happen every time.....i think i too was just lucky those days......

Not me, if it weren't for bad luck I wouldn't have any. I have to make a concious effort to keep my mind on what I am doing. I wish it was second nature but alas, I am not a mental giant and must concentrate. Maybe I should hang out with y'all and get some of that good luck to rub off. LOL

I had the same experience w/the DPS last year. I think any of us that have ever lived in Texas are aware that passing an officer on an FM road in the middle of nowhere at 90 mph was not uncommon years ago. I think the DPS incorporates this into their current enforcement levels on interstates. When I was pulled over, I apologized to the officer also and explained that I thought I was operating w/in speed tolerance. Once he determined I wasn't a desperado, a warning was all I received also. I think it has to do with your intent and attitude. If you are driving like the "Good Old Days", you can probably expect to get hit hard w/a fine.

The only speeding ticket I've received since '00 in Ohio (in a Combo) was in NC in January in my 4 wheeler.
With the cost of the attorney, the court cost, the fine, and the stupid "driving school" (that I did online), the complete package was about $500.00.
The charge was reduced to Improper Equipment and it was a LOT cheaper than if there were points assessed because it isn't my car but is my License.

I'll have anutter-Nutter-Butter-Peanut-Butter-Sandwich-Cookie please!!

Be careful about getting your paperwork ready before the cop gets there. I was pulled over in Mass (for throwing a ciggerette out the window in the pouring rain :( ) and i got my reg and lisc out only to end up staring in the mouth of a 9mm. Trooper saw me "rummaging" around and thought I was up to no good??!! I never got a ticket but that jack-a-ninny cop just didn't want to spend anymore time in the rain I guess.
