Default UPS Brown or FedEx National ?

Hi

UPS Brown : Feeder Driver Part time/seasonal driver OR

FedEx National : Line-Haul driver

I have an interview with UPS tomorrow and FedEx is doing my background check. I think I have a good shot at either but I'm torn.

It depends on what city they are out of. I worked as a seasonal driver at UPS for 2 years and got on full time but it was hard, because of the wait to become full time. At ups they have to hire from the inside first then if theres no one qualified then they go to the outside. You might get 60hrs one week and not get called in the next week at all with no benifits and as a seasonal driver they will lay you off in sept and jan 1 through april?. The average guy at my building makes around 80 a year and benifits are paid for even your precriptions. I still have 6months till i get to full scale and i cant wait because the last raise is almost 10 bucks.

I agree with race. FXN will be more steady in the beginning, but you will end up making more in the end @ UPS parcel. I was a part-time saturday air driver when I was at UPS and I was rarely ever needed on saturday.

Which FXNL barn? I run single-bid linehaul for FXNL and love it! That's just me of course. PM me if you want more info or check out our forum, which might answer some questions for you.
