CB Radio, maybe an antenna, a Trucker's Road Atlas, i take a mini cassette recorder to record the miles as i cross state lines, pens, pencils, rulers (6"), calculator, stapler, note pads, cell phone, cell phone recharger, a brief case, a soft-sided luggage bag, aspirins, bottled water, paper towels, clean rags, flashlights (at least 2), spare batteries, bungie cords, windex, then take a bottle of cleaner like 409, or Simple Green, and many other things i cannot remember....for the truck

for you, deoderant, foot deoderant, shampoo, soap, razors, shave cream, after-shave, toothpaste, tooth brush, dental floss, nail clippers, Q-Tips, ** i usually bring my own towels and face cloths, as the ones in the truckstops, i question their cleanliness, and absorbancy**, clean under wear, clean socks, clean blue jeans, clean shirts, or "pocket T-shirts", a spare pair of shoes/boots or sneakers, comb or brush, hair drier if you require that, scissors, band-aids, toilet paper (and i usually carry that in my shave kit when i use the bathrooms, as they can and WILL be empty of toilet paper, when YOU NEED IT...!!), maybe a bottle of hand sanitizer,, flip-flops for when you use the showers, wear them, DO NOT TRUST the floors to be clean, but instead infected with foot fungus from someone else.......

and above all else, when you take a shower, NEVER SIT ON ANYTHING in the shower room......or you could "pick-up" something from the last person, or two, or three, or four........

Well said Pro driver, spoken by a man with true expeirence, it's all the lil things we forget, Ive been caught short many a time with out toilet paper & yes never go bare feet in showers. I have sat my but over the drawbar of a few trailers at night on the side of the road, quite comfy but very cold to the skin like I often say to my sons I may be old, but I am wise not stupid
Cheers Ray down under.

Always carry water and food so that if you break down or get stuck in a blizzard you won't go without. pro1's mini-cassette recorder is a good idea. I was trying to write and drive until someone gave me that tip that my cellphone probably has a voice memo recorder. Sure enough it did and I started using it.

i just bought a brand new mini cassette recorder at wally-world saturday, a Sony for under $25.00, batteries and cassette included..

and by the way, shop around at walgreens', cvs or wally-world for "travel size" or "trail sized" personal hygene products. usually under $1.00 each, pack easily too....
