looking for independent contractor to drive for

hi,i live in toano va. im looking to get back driveing on the road but seem to have run into a problem because ive been off the road for 3 years now. no one wonts to hire me on .i went to a trucking hireing site i wont mention the name but was told my best way of getting back on the road is to get at least 3 months driving with a independent contractor. i went on the iternet and typed independent contrator looking for driver's and a few other forms of typing in driver looking for independent contractor to drive for but wont really click on to what i need ,so is there any one that can possibly help me find a way to find indepent contractors looking for drives ????? i have over 12 years driving long haul but just no current driving in the past 3 years.my driving record is good +2 points and just renewed my cdl its good till 2012 so im ready just cant get my foot in the door it sem unless i find a independent contrctor .so any help wood be gratefull.lyion

No offense intended my friend but I suggest before you post anything anywhere you run a "spell check" first. Good luck with your job hunting. It's really rough out there right now and the economy is not maing it any easier for us.

You might want to try talking with some drivers that are sitting at the counter of a truck stop. Bulletin boards at truck stops would also help somewhat.

lyion here .i have talked to about 3 people who have trucks that wont drivers.I've been trying to renew my dot physical but i put a check in the box saying i have sleep apnea.i went to get the physical but they wouldn't let me take it. i was told i needed a doctor saying it was OK to go back driving so i went to the county clinic were i usely get my medicine for high blood pressure i got the practitioner to write a letter for me but he put down that the sleep doctor said i was doing good using the paps machine at night the practitioner put down he thought i should start out slow and short runs . well i went back showing this letter to the doctors office where i was trying get my physical and the nurse told me i had to get a letter from the sleep doctor so i called and the sleep doctor is on vacation is i can't see him till the 27 of this month.I've had one person who has 3 trucks that needs drivers i told him i was getting me physical this past saturday and he's supposed to get back with me around the 15 this Friday or Saturday. i told him about by using a paps machine and i explained to his that I've been on it for over 2 years and I'm doing good .another guy called me and has 2 trucks need drivers but was kind of unsure were he wants to lease on with well i rather work for a independent who has his on authority because I've been off 3 years from driving most companies rather hire a student than some one like me who has 12 years driving be hind my belt.one company said they needed drivers and the man i talked to said he'd leave a application in his mail box .i drove 4 hours 2 hours to get to the place and back and there wasn't a application in there mail box i was pissed off big time. when i got over to the company's headquarters it looked like they had some old trucks and it seem to me they probably hauled containers. don't wont to go that route not much money no back hauls and a lot of over weight loads that takes for ever to wait in line for trailers and stuff . well one guy also i talked to said he'd call me back but haven't heard back from him .its a weighting game for me probably you to . where are you out of ?what state.keep in contact with me give me some of your detail later ill give you my email address so we can talk more if i find something good ill let you no vise versa,.my name is Jerry Moseley my email is jmoseley53@cox.net let me no somthing if you hear some independent looking for drivers.oh the one guy thats subpose to call me sais hes into pulling refrigereated trailers acrss county .would you be intrested in doing that? well let me hear from you ,may be the 2 of us can find somthing soon.
