After 26 years of driving ( six years non-union and twenty years union, yes indeed I have been on both sides of the fence from independent contractor, company driver and union company driver hauling anything and everything from saw dust to steel I-beams, beer cans to styrofoam, and I think a little bit of chicken dookie too! )
I'm getting bored and tired of the profession.
Used to get treated like a human being and now it's just turned into a grind ya down till you're wore out and throw you to the curb mentality anymore.
Competition is one thing but the human aspect has gone out the door with all the open door policies.
Now we are faced with foreign competition like low wage drivers from mexico competing for our work here in the U.S. The regulatory agencies are making it to where an American has to jump thru hoops upside down on one leg holding your breath while foreigners have a free run ... I gotta stop it's Sunday and the beautiful sun is shining outside I'm not going to ruin my day with this rant.
But you guys know what I'm trying to say.
Thanks for the forum Jeff, have a nice Sunday!
